I have not been able to speak to anyone who can answer my questions. I have been put on medication then left without meds causing a sudden stop of meds. I have been told I would be called back and no-one has. I have no clue what is happening, I have been told I will be getting an appointment but not heard anything for months. One of the doctors was very rude and refused to remove his mask or where a see through one so I could see his mouth to help me understand what he was saying despite the lifting of COVID restrictions. I don't seem to be able get on-line video appointments which would make the service much more accessible to me not only by reducing anxiety but also would enable me to have subtitles on so I could read what is being said. A nurse asked me what I felt about my diagnosis then told me my feelings were not normal and we're wrong. She asked how my condition affected me with a view to helping but then ignored what I explained as the difficult I was having told me my condition must mean I am unable to get to work on time and told me to by an alarm clock to fix this. The idea that this is a service is laughable. I will make a point of saying that many of the staff have been very pleasant, it is only the one doctor I found to be unprofessional and unpleasant. However I have not got any of the help I need, I have been left without meds and my experience of the service you provide has been very poor. I find it particularly concerned that a service that is ment to be designed to help people who have mental health conditions and nerodiversity conditions should be so inaccessible and seems to have so little understanding of the difficulties faced by people with such conditions. This service does not appear to have made any attempt to make the service accessable to people with disabilities. Even this survey does not follow my colour settings making it difficult to read.

[name removed] has left no stone unturned trying to find out what’s wrong with me and to help me. She’s been amazing.

I got a letter with an appointment with a doctor but it doesn’t say what the appointment is for. It would be helpful to know this before going to the appointment.

Ucat is absolutly dreadful, they need to sort it out. I was referred to them for the weekend as needed extra support, tbh I would have got more help out of a chocolate teapot- it was down to my friends and family to keep me safe. I saw them 1 a day for 20 mins ( I have recording of second day of the conversation). The asked me how I was, my response was I’m not good struggling (been referred to them due to wanting and still wanting to die) still feeling rly suicidal. They didn’t even acknowledge it, for the rest of the time they were with me on both times, we discussed everything (baking, tv shows, photos, my cats etc anything but my mental health). They then left and I didn’t hear from them until they come out at the next day- I was them informed by them that I would b referred back to pcart and that I and my mum( she requested it) would be contacted on the Monday, that never happens, I did not hear from them until my appointment with my therapist on Tuesday ( she is amazing, kind, a good listener, doesn’t judge me, one of the best memeber of staff u have- u need more like her). During the conversation with ucat when asked about my Christmas and how it went, on the Saturday I replied not good as my Nan passed away, the male that attended my address completly ignored my response. I felt worse after they left- everything was very intense, due to them I ended up self harming- it was then left to my friend to calm me down as I was a mess. I’m my opnion they are useless, and a waste of time, they left me in a worse place and a complete mess- I WILL NOT EVER work with them again !! Also the rule in DBT “ that if u self harm u can not have support” is such a stupid rule and needs to go as I’m being punished for using this coping skill when nothing else works. Also the crisis house needs to stop discriminating against those who smoke cannabis.

I am very sorry you felt the input was unhelpful. Daily visits is usual for the team and how it works , we would expect them to last as long as is necessary to review and monitor your mental health.

Think the hospital is useless. Still awaiting for treatment. Was supposed to be informed every 3 months where I was on waiting list but as usual. Patients/ clients what ever you wish to call us is just a number a tick box

Suggested improvements
Kept me informed as you was suppose to . Patients are treated with dignity or compassion.

I'd love to be able to give some feedback on the care received, but my referral was accepted on 2nd October 2022 and since then I've heard nothing. UCAT tried chasing it when I ended up in crisis in November/December 2022, but couldn't get hold of anyone on the team. As of yet I'm still waiting for an assessment, support, treatment, or just some form of contact aside from being asked for feedback!

Suggested improvements
Actually seen me, or acted on the referral, or just contacted me at least.

I have been using mental health services since about 14/15 first camh in Bedford then the adult services. This is hands down the worst ever. I was referred as urgent last July 2021, got seen in September. By got seen I mean i had a nurse called koleki reporting back often inaccurately to the least sympathetic psychiatrist i have ever encountered in my life named [name removed] [name removed]. This was a first for me that I didn't see a [name removed] directly. He wrote horrible things about me in a letter, wouldn't consider how I felt about anything to do with my treatment. He gave me a choice between the medicine that wasn't working or one known for major weight gain despite knowing I'm petrified of weight gain having an eating disorder diagnosis for about 15 years by this point. Also the same class of medicine gave me hypothyroidism, diabetes and i had to lose over 7 stone twice on more "weight neutral" medicine of that class. He took me off the antipsychotic that wasnt working once and didnt titrate the doseage. He just stopped it immediately which made me even worse for a while. Eventually I got desperate enough to try the medicine he had offered I was frightened of by which time he decided he wouldn't change til he seen me in person. He wouldn't see me in person til he forced me through this physical health check which was distressing for me and hard to get to. Its claimed its for all patients and they wont help you if you don't comply. I never experienced this. He then left days after before I could be seen. I then had to wait even longer without medicine for a [name removed] to be replaced. Conveniently nurse [name removed] left the team aswell! She lied about things like I refused to be seen in person (I couldn't get to the appointment without relying on my ex boyfriend to drive me there who is on an alternating split shift) and because I declined when she invited herself around to my house (no one ever comes to my house and I explained I had 3 large dogs). So she chose to make it look like I was being uncooperative. Eventually I get seen by [name removed] [name removed] sometime in MAY, he seemed to care but made alot of assumptions and spoke more than me and my carer combined. He was a definite improvement still. He downplayed how bad I felt even though I showed him multiple failed transactions of me trying to purchase nembutal the euthanasia drug. I was supposed to be seen within 10 weeks, maybe less at the time as I just started a new medication. I understand there is understaffing and alot of people who need help. I did get a letter with alot of inaccuracies which caused me massive distress, no one would help me about it. It looked like he was implying I was lying about stuff, I am distrusting of mental health professionals for good reason. I Eventually seen him 5 months later in October, we wasted half the appointment him repeating himself saying I took it the wrong way. I felt he was trying to help me though. I was told to be seen in 10 weeks. Which would have been about 5 weeks ago and nothing. I did hear recently he was unwell on leave but this is how they are treating someone with a known 16 year history of bipolar disorder who feels suicidal regularly, an eating disorder and 3 other diagnosed mental illnesses. The biggest joke is my new care nurse named [name removed], he would never call when he was meant to. Was no help when he did. I haven't heard from him since probably July or August. I've just been left to it. If anything this service has made me feel even more hopeless, the stress I was under was intensified by the previous nurse and dr just saying what they felt like about me in letters. Things weren't perfect with [name removed] [name removed] but atleast he tried. The fact im left so long without appointments and totally ignored by my case worker/nurse i am honestly worse off now 18 months after my urgent referral. Keep up the great work... I hope other patients haven't been treated this way.

Suggested improvements
Literally absolutely everything. The only people who care are the receptionists and even one of them isn't particularly pleasant. Employ better staff would be a good start. Maybe don't leave suicidal patients with a history of attempts and active eating disorder relapse to their own devices for 5 months at a time without a care worker even checking in occasionally. I hate this service. They don't deserve the one star.

No idea what is going on with my care. Depends who you speak to on reception if they are helpful.

Suggested improvements
Keep informed by letter even, awaiting phone calls over 48 hours and do not get one. Very little information causes confusion.
